Markd Timeline does not require user accounts. All core data is stored locally on your device.

Common Questions

How do I back up my data?

Go to Settings and tap "Export Backup (JSON)" to save a full backup, or "Export as CSV" for spreadsheet-compatible data. You can import backups from the same screen. JSON backup and restore also include your Quick Log button setup, including mood-cycle time slots.

How does sleep tracking work?

The app reads sleep data from Health Connect. Grant permission in your device's Health Connect settings, then the timeline will show sleep sessions and awake time automatically.

Can I log multiple activities at once?

Yes. Create a group from the home screen, then log the group to record all its activities with a single tap.

Can I customize the Quick Log button?

Yes. Go to Settings and open "Quick Log Button" to change its icon, shape, frame, background, and overall look. Markd Pro also unlocks mood cycles with editable time slots and premium icon packs like the mushroom set. The live preview updates while you edit it.

Are Quick Log mood cycles included in backup and restore?

Yes. JSON backup and restore include the Quick Log button settings, including mood-cycle slot times and the icon chosen for each slot.

How do reminders work?

Edit an activity and set an auto reminder interval (minutes, hours, days, or weeks). After you log the activity, a notification will be scheduled for the configured interval.

How do activity backgrounds and frames work?

Edit an activity or group and open the styling section. You can keep the activity color for recognition, then separately choose a premium frame and a background theme for the card surface.

How can I request data deletion?

No account deletion process is required because the app has no user accounts. You can delete individual entries in-app or clear app data from your device settings.

How do I customize my Stats dashboard?

Open the Stats tab and tap the tune icon in the top-right corner. From there you can drag to reorder cards or toggle individual cards on and off to build your own dashboard.

How do I search my entries?

Use the Search tab to find entries by note text, activity name, or date range. You can also use the search bar on the Home screen to filter activities by name.

How do I hide sensitive activities?

Edit an activity and enable "Sensitive" in its settings. Then use the visibility toggle on the Home screen to show or hide all sensitive activities at once. When hidden, they are excluded from all screens and exports.

What are search shortcuts?

In an activity's settings, assign a short text shortcut (e.g. "wt" for Water). In Quick Log, typing the shortcut instantly surfaces that activity. With Super Fast Log enabled, it auto-logs without even tapping.

How do I change the time of an entry?

Tap any entry on the Timeline to edit it. Use the quick-adjust buttons (±5m, ±15m, ±1h) or pick an exact time and date. You can also long-press entries to multi-select them and bulk-edit their times.
